Eplan and GCU Racing Announce Partnership

GCU Racing is pleased to announce our new sponsor Eplan.

Eplan is a software and service solutions company that specialises in electrical, automation and mechatronic engineering.

At GCU Racing we use Eplan’s world leading design software to assist in the designing of this year’s wiring harness for the car. Using the software, we can import an accurate 3D model of our car in order to create a realistic design of our harness assisting in determining the correct length, positioning and type of wires to be used.  

Along with the creation of the wiring harness it also gives us the ability to then use the information generated to produce an accurate bill of materials allowing for us to keep track of what we have spent, and the materials used.

Not only does Eplan allow us to make accurate 3D designs of our harness, but also allows for us to generate a 2D wiring diagram and appropriate design documents.

GCU Racing’s electrical sub-team head, Rhys Hood, said: “Eplan have also provided us access to their learning platform in order to help us get up to speed with the software.”
